How to Scale Your Startup Without Burning Cash or Depending on Venture Capital

Growth shouldn't cost you your company.

Scale too early and you burn the cash. Scale too late and you lose the market. Stand still and you lose both.

There is a fourth path. It is in this book.

The fourth path

Find the constraint. Fix it. Let revenue fund the next stage.

Scaling Maturity is that path: find the one constraint holding your company back, fix it, stabilize, and let revenue fund the next stage, one cycle at a time.

The book is written for self-financed tech founders who want leverage, not a larger cost base. It turns growth-induced pressure into a repeatable sequence you can run with your own cash flow.

Inside the book

What you will learn to see and change

  • How to distinguish growth from scaling before the mix becomes expensive
  • The Core Sequence: Pressure, Clarity, Small Redesign, Stability, Scaling
  • The financial ratios that matter: CAC, CLV, burn, and runway
  • How fast you can scale on your own money
  • How to identify bottlenecks before they become crises
  • Self-assessments that locate your company in the cycle
  • Financial OKRs designed for self-financed startups

The theoretical foundation is the scientific working paper on SSRN. The book turns that framework into tools you can use in the company.

The cover

Cream, navy, and one sequence you can read in five seconds

The front cover is a billboard, not decoration. The cream band carries the title. The navy field carries the promise, the audience, and the Core Sequence as five connected steps.

Gold marks the award and the first step. That is deliberate. Pressure is where the work starts. The remaining steps are waiting, in order, once you can see the constraint.

  • Award line. DGOR Research Award Winner sits at the top so the research claim is visible even as a thumbnail.
  • Audience line. For founders scaling from 0 to 200 employees. The book is not written for venture-scale headcount.
  • Subtitle. How to scale without burning cash or depending on venture capital. The job of the book in one sentence.
  • Sequence. Five steps, gold then cream, connected by arrows. The same sequence the chapters teach.
